Why Buy From BikeBeat?

When you choose BikeBeat for your next bicycle purchase, the advantage is all yours!  Bicycle Retailer and bicycleresearch.com have chosen us as a Top 100 dealer 4 years running!  We are also the only Thule 5 Star dealer in Virginia.

Fit The most critical need any bike buyer has is the right bike for their riding needs with the proper sizing and fit.  A  bike that does not fit the rider is uncomfortable and a poor value at any price, because uncomfortable bikes don't get ridden. We'll help select the type of bike that best suits your needs, help you work within your budget, and make sure the bike you go home with is the right size and has been adjusted to fit you.

We carry children's bike models that are highly adjustable, meaning your child will be able to ride the bike longer before needing a larger size. We will refit  the bike to your child as she grows at no charge, and provide free safely inspections for the life of the bike.  When your child outgrows the bike, we'll accept a child's bike purchased at BikeBeat as a trade-in toward another bike, or if the bike has been "well loved" and has too much cosmetic damage to go out on the sales floor, you can list it for free on our classifieds page.

Our Products

We sell the industry's best brands—Trek, Jamis, Pivot, MirraCo, Bontrager, Pearl Izumi, Louis Garneau, Nirve and many more—all while providing world class service.  And if we don't have it in stock, we can order it for you--often without an additional shipping fee!  Most of our bikes are backed by a lifetime frame warranty, and we provide free adjustments on brakes and derailleurs to the original owner for the life of any bike purchased at BikeBeat.

Our StaffAndy fixes a flat tire at Bike Beat

BikeBeat's staff is the best!  Our service managers have over 60 years combined experience in the bike industry, so you can rest assured your repair is in good hands.  They also regularly attend industry clinics, so whether it's a 20-year-old 3-speed english racer, or the latest suspension from Fox or RockShox, they know how to repair it.  New bikes are assembled with care by trained technicians, and gear and brake adjustments are free as long as you own the bike.  Try finding that kind of service at a big box store!

Our Commitment to our Community and Environment

We believe in the power of the bicycle.  The bike is a simple solution to many complex problems like obesity, pollution, traffic congestion and more.  This is why we commit our time and money to a variety of bike and pedestrian issues.  We support the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation, serve on the Historic Triangle Bike Advisory Committee, build trails with the Eastern Virginia Mountain Bike Association, attend the National Bike Summit to lobby our congressmen, and work with Safe Routes to School.  We also support rides like the Eastern Shore MS-150, the Tour de Cure, Ride 2 Recovery, and the Ride for Awareness , with volunteer mechanics and gift certificates for top fundraisers.

While cycling is an environmentally friendly activity, all the paper, cardboard, used cables and tubes, and even "dead" bikes are not.  We recycle our paper and plastics, as well as punctured tubes.  We also donate parts and labor to repair old or abandoned bikes, that are then donated to local non-profits like Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Adventure Center at Bike BeatOur Commitment to Your Riding Experience

Buying a bike is just the beginning of our relationship with our customers.  Need a place to ride?  Each store has an adventure center stocked with free maps of local rides, and if you have questions about the best routes our staff of avid cyclists are happy to advise!  Looking for people to ride with?  Check our local rides page and join a ride that's right for you.

Our free "get to know your bike" nights (offered twice a month) will teach you about shifting, how to lube your chain, and how to change a flat.  Ready to learn even more about maintenance?  Take Park Tool School, a four week course that covers everything from overhauling bearing systems to wheel truing.

We look forward to seeing you in the store!
